The History of our nursery

Nursery was established over 34 years ago, serving the community for many many years.

The nursery building was built in 1857 and was previously once St Josephs Old School, Set back from the main road and next to St Josephs Church our nursery is surrounded by woodland and offers private off road parking and disabled access.

Nursery is managed by Jenny Almond and Tracey Gilbertson

Jenny has worked within the nursery for over 20 years and Tracey for 17, they share the same vision for the future of nursery and continue to offer the warm, loving environment our children and parents know so well

Out of School Club

Providing wrap around care for all local schools

Our Out of School Club provides wrap around care for your child, whether you need morning club, afterschool club or holiday cover we provide it.

In OOSC we aim to use as many recycled material as we can as we are passionate about making changes to save our ocean. The children love to get involved in our planning and having an opinion on the things we construct. We think it’s important that their voice is heard.

OOSC has use of three large spaces, the hall, the den and a large outside yard. The children can play pool, table football, become super stars on our stage or construct with our large range of equipment/loose parts. They can take risks with our outdoor risky play and construct with the use of large crates, pieces of wood, large tyres and other items. In our den they can watch a film, create with a vast majority of art supplies or play on our Nintendo Wii or other electronic equipment.

Start Today / The first days

We want your child to feel happy and safe with us. To make sure that this is the case, the staff will work with you to decide on how to help your child to settle into the setting. The setting has a policy about helping children to settle into the setting. We currently do not charge for visits/setting in sessions. These can be negotiated and booked in to suit your individual needs/requirements.

We hope that you and your child enjoy being members of our setting and that you both find taking part in our activities interesting and stimulating. The staff are always ready and willing to talk to you about your ideas, views or questions.
